A Vet’s Wish: A Journey to Niagara Falls
The Escambia County school system knows him as the resource officer who is always there when needed—a steady hand, a comforting presence, and a protector for both students and staff. His unwavering dedication to his community is clear to anyone who interacts with him. But beneath his strong exterior, this family carries the weight of years of service to his country and his community, and now, as a former US Marine living with end-stage liver disease, he faces the hardest challenge of all.
A soldier who fought for his country, a father who always put his eight children first, and a husband who cherished his loving wife. But now, in the midst of his health battles, his friends and family are determined to give him a gift—a wish for this Veteran, a chance to experience something extraordinary before life demands more of him.
His dream had always been to visit Niagara Falls, to witness the power and beauty of the rushing waters that he’d heard so much about. After all the years of giving, his family knew this trip would not just be a visit to a landmark but a chance for him to create lasting memories with his wife—a moment of peace and beauty after a lifetime of sacrifice.
When Covenant Care Vets Wish learned about this family, they knew they had to do everything they could to make it a reality. They reached out to the community, asking for support in sending them on a long weekend getaway to Niagara Falls, a destination they would never forget.
The goal is to raise $3,500 to cover travel expenses, accommodation, food and experiences that would give them the chance to see the falls up close, to feel the mist on their faces, and to stand together in awe of the power of nature.
This will be more than just a trip—it will be a symbol of everything they have been through and everything they have given to others. And with your help, they can experience a piece of the world that had always been on their wish list.
Together, we can make this journey a reality—a wish fulfilled, a lifetime of memories made.
